L'Association des Médias en Ligne du Tchad (AMET) exprime sa profonde inquiétude et sa vive condamnation suite à l'arrestation du rédacteur en chef de Tchadinfos.com Badour Oumar Ali.

Ce mardi 7 août 2024, M. Badour Oumar Ali a été convoqué à midi par la police judiciaire du 8e arrondissement. Peu après son arrivée, il a été embarqué par des hommes armés et cagoulés et conduit à la Direction Générale de l'Agence Nationale de Sécurité (ANS) à bord d’un véhicule banalisé. Un journaliste présent sur les lieux a confirmé ces faits troublants.

L'AMET dénonce fermement cet acte d'intimidation et d'enlèvement, qui constitue une atteinte grave à la liberté de la presse et aux droits humains fondamentaux. Nous rappelons que la liberté de la presse est un pilier essentiel de la démocratie et que les journalistes doivent pouvoir exercer leur métier sans crainte de représailles ou de violences.

Nous appelons les autorités compétentes à faire toute la lumière sur cet incident, à garantir la sécurité de tous les journalistes au Tchad, et à respecter les droits constitutionnels de liberté d'expression et d'information.

L'AMET réitère son engagement inébranlable à défendre la liberté de la presse et à soutenir tous les journalistes dans l'exercice de leur mission d'information. Nous appelons également à la solidarité de tous les acteurs des médias, des organisations de la société civile et de la communauté internationale pour exiger la libération immédiate et sans condition de M. Badour Oumar Ali.
